This kind of thing usually is. With Dreher it is a bit less obvious than usual because he hides his fanaticism beneath a veneer of civility and $10 vocabulary words. He also relieves himself of the burdens of original thought by plagiarizing those bits of Christian tradition he finds to be most convenient for his purposes.

edited to add: This use of tradition makes Dreher looks considerably more intelligent than the many evangelical preachers who make their theology up as they go along.
