We haven’t threatened Iran with force, just more crippling sanctions, which were hurting the country. But, the other reason we haven’t put a lot of pressure on North Korea is that the Chinese have way more success than we do. But there’s only so much you can do against a crazy leader unless you are going to remove him. But North Korea also has one more thing: Seoul is close enough that conventional weapons from the North would destroy the city.

Seoul has a population of 10 million people. Conventional weapons can damage Seoul, but cannot destroy it in any tactical time-frame.
