re: #5 jaunte

The GOP plan does more that completely fuck up Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare.

It completely fucks up the employer based coverage for most Americans.

In other words, this isn’t just about the 23 million who will lose their coverage directly because of the GOP assault on the Medicaid/Medicare/Obamacare programs.

They’re attacking employer based coverage for no reason beyond the fact that they’re craven and it helps (but doesn’t completely cover) the cost of massive tax breaks for the rich.

There’s no reason for them to go there. None. They’re doing this with malice aforethought, and it will fuck over nearly 50% of the workforce who have employer based plans. Medicare and Medicaid make up another 35% of the population, 7% nongroup, ~9% are uninsured, and 2% are in other public plans.

So, a GOP that is beyond clueless about how insurance works generally and health care works specifically, have gutted coverage that affects around 35% of the population and undermined coverage of an additional 50% of the population.

That’s 85% right by itself. And more than a few of these people are GOPers who are beyond clueless that their dumbassery has unleashed such a craven outcome that shifts all the burdens to them while the rich get bigger tax breaks.

Fuck ‘em all. Fuck ‘em with a rusty pitchfork. Fuck McCain and Murkowski and Collins who’ll all be like yeah, we have reservations, and then go ahead and vote for this monstrosity anyways. Fuck McConnell for hiding this legislation so that no one can truly rip it to shreds and kill it in a woodchipper where it properly belongs (well, after sprinkling with holy water and burning it, that is).

The GOP didn’t create a health care plan here.

They created a massive redistribution of wealth to the rich from everyone else.
