I think it’s pretty simple, actually: He saw it on Fox News this morning, and had to comment on it. Then, when people didn’t just agree with him, he had to double down. I don’t think there’s any grand plan other than he’s always got to be right and the last one that said anything.

He was barking about it last night at his rally. He made it a thing then. This is a continuation. He has chosen this as a weapon or a smoke screen. Just a feeling. You never know with Trump.
