Different people have different experiences with both poverty and the cost of college.

Hey Joe Bacon, was that you on audio on yesterday’s Utah Outcast patron’s livestream? It sounded like you.

As I posted elsewhere in a FB discussion: The cost of college at traditional 4 year institutions has exploded over the decades, far faster than inflation. When my sister attended Northwestern (on scholarship and commuting from home), tuition was 1800 annually; when her daughter attended 33 years later, tuition was 27,000. Inflation during the same period was about 409%; so to be equivalent, the tuition should have been 7,362. Our real problem is the skyrocketing expense; it’s ridiculous that price has so exceeded inflation. For the health of the nation, public universities (yes — I know — Northwestern is private) should be affordable — so that students can graduate without facing overwhelming debt. But colleges are not for working class or middle class families.
