re: #97 Vambo

psst… health care reform would really help with that.

How? I can see the part about how health care reform would provide some relief for the businesses that include health care as part of the compensation for their employees, but the money to pay for it has to come from somewhere, likely as tax increases that will reduce disposable income. Its not like the money to pay for health care for millions of uninsured is going to drop from the sky. And further, adding millions more people into the health care system may be the right thing to do, but typically, when demand increases for a product with a constant supply, prices increase. I haven’t seen much in the way of increasing the amount of health care service providers as part of health care reform, just more customers for the services. Now if the plan is to impose price controls to keep the costs down, that will just bring shortages, just like price controls always do.

Any plan to provide health care to more people has to include plans to significantly increase the supply for the services or it can’t work.
