I find these child beauty pageants offensive not because of any sexualization, but because the parents are treating their kids as possessions and objects to be manipulated in order to bring the parents fame or to address some perceived failing in their own lives.

BTW, if you view a 4 year old girl as a sex object because of the way she is dressed, then you’re the problem.

I certainly don’t view them as sex objects (shudder) but I just can not help but connect the dots of child sex predators and dressing children up in clothing way beyond their years in a sex appeal design sense. Then broadcasting the images. Not wise.
