We might as well just go ahead and declare that cops can do no wrong. Even with video evidence, people are inclined to believe that a cop was doing the right thing. Wouldn’t surprise me if more than one of the morons who voted not to indict though that Garner deserved whatever he got for tangling with a cop.

You see that mentality a lot in comments around the web.

It’s like a big chunk of the American people have turned into the sadistic juror from 12 Angry Men.

As long as it is somebody from group (fill in the blank) that they don’t like, far too many people are perfectly fine with extra-judicial execution, and they get the vicarious thrill of supporting the punishment supposedly done in the name of (their) society.
