P.S. FWIW, both Amos Oz and his daughter Fania are liberals. Oz and other liberal Israelis were recently viciously attacked by a far-right group named Im Tirtzu and accused of being foreign [cultural] āmoles.ā This deeply angered & offended many, including Ozās grandson, and Im Titrtzu has since apologized.
Oh, and that recent film directed by Natalie Portman, A Tale of Love and Darkness? Itās based on Ozās autobiographical novel of the same name (Portman plays his daughter Fania in the movie). He was also among the soldiers recorded in 1967 following the Six-Day War who appears in the recent award-winning (and somewhat controversial) documentary film, Censored Voices.

And with that, Iām outta here. Later, lizards.
Yes, Iāve been hearing about the radicalization of Israel. I guess itās understandable in some ways, but it is frightening to think that what we had considered our analogue in Israelā a vibrant democracyā is becoming our new potential future: an extremist Judeo-Christianist state.
