But their recent expansion by buying the Tribune broadcast assets is just one in a long line of right-wing expansion in broadcasting.

A long time ago, the religious right did FM radio, when FM was cheap. Then they did UHF TV. Then they did cable TV networks, then bought up AM radio, then finally bigger television stations.

So something like Sinclair didn’t come out of nowhere. They are part of a long procession of the religious right’s strategy. And it is strategy.
