I was just trying to lend understanding to both points. People feel what they feel, they react the way they want to react to what faces them at any given time. I understand both points and feel both are legitimate. It is about perspective and age paints it different ways.

It sucks for me, at 47, having to tell my kids that they’re going to have to be participants in a struggle that we thought was over. My kids and I are white, but I’ve tried to make them aware of things. I’ve explained to them how if minorities and women have to struggle for rights, then they as men will suffer as well.
