Trump doesn’t even know what we’re doing re: arms sales to the Saudis.

He inflates the amount of money the Saudis are paying for arms. He’s lying about the economic benefits.

He’s giving up our leverage to demand answers and justice, because he doesn’t care about any of this.

This isn’t realpolitik. This is bulkshit because he simply doesn’t get how any of this works, and he doesn’t care because all that matters to Trump is that the Saudis are lining his pockets with real estate deals. He thinks that if he takes a hard line it will mean that the Saudis go elsewhere (hint: they are - because Trump’s properties are old and busted, compared with the new hotness being built on Billionaire’s Row in Manhattan). Even on this, he can’t get it right.
