the way they sling ‘socialism” as a catch all these days, you can rewrite the last paragraph as “down with whatever the democrats propose”

the line that nails is “socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people”

liberty and justice for all means for all or it means nothing

I’m short, progress is socialism to them. It’s easy for me to see why Taft a product of a family that made its wealth prior to his birth was threatened by the New Deal and Fair Deal which helped more families enter the Middle Class.
