No, they spied on Russian spy assets. Your campaign just happened to be dealing with them. Like if the cops are watching a drug dealers place, and you visit that drug dealer every 2 days. They have you on film as an associate or customer. They were not spying on you specifically, you just dealt with the people they WERE spying on.
