My take away from this is that whenever a cat knocks something off a shelf or knocks over a glass on the counter they are doing it on purpose.

Well, duh.

I have one cat who is somewhat less than graceful - I have seen her actually fall off something (and no, not deliberately) - but even she does it on purpose 99% of the time.
