The Muslim Brotherhood (of which Hamas is part) seeks the overthrown of Egypt’s current government and its replacement by an Islamist theocracy. That alone would be reason enough to sign off on something like this.

It’s surprising that these guys haven’t tried to knock Mubarak off already. Perhaps Mubarak lets these terrorists get away with what they did, as a safety valve.
