re: #106 I’m back in the USSR (sigh)

Earlier some other Russian Islamic leaders wrote a letter to authorities urging to charge Aslanyan for “extremism”. So this will be another test case. Will the authorities bow down to religious totalitarians, or will they try to honestly investigate this case? The earlier test case was the attack by Orthodox Christian thugs on the exhibition “Warning, religion!” in Sakharov’s Center. Not only the attackers were let scot free, it were the organizers of the exhibition who were sentenced to fines.

My son (the one who was visiting over the weekend) lived in Moscow for 10 years, moved back to the U.S. in 2009. He experienced some…ah…”difficulties” as activist of a prominent Jewish organization.
