Needing some advice… I am spitting fire right now.

There is a “special” young man, age 20, who lives here in the park with his grandparents. He’s a friendly young man and we’ve pretty much adopted him down at our end of the park. His grandmother told me he’s about 5 years old intellectually. I was having coffee with a friend/neighbor this morning when he came by with his dog and joined us for a visit. During this visit he shared an experience he had last night with another park resident who had him in his fifth wheel watching porn and when the kid got excited asked to see his penis. I knew instantly who the guy was since he used to live a couple of doors down and I know well his penchant for very young men.

We assured the young man that he did nothing wrong and that his response to the porn was entirely normal. I also told him that John is NOT a nice man and that he needs to stay far away from him. We will be talking to his grandparents. I want to call the police and report him but… a) I don’t know if it’s my place to do so and b) the young man is 20 and therefore of legal age but with his disability I would think the laws for sexual predation would consider him a minor. I also want to report him to the park management to get his ass evicted but, again, I don’t know if this is my place.

I am fuming.

Can you mention to ‘John’ the kid told you what happened. Maybe tell him of the kid’s mental capacity and he should not be taken advantage of and that you and the other residents will be watching him and will call the police if needed. Scare him. He’s the problem.
