Minnesota can be weird. They elected Bridge Collapse Pawlenty statewide several times. They elected Rudy Boschwich the plywood king as Senator. They elected Norm Coleman to Senate. Just when things get good in the state, they turn the legislature over to Republicans to trash it again. Jesse Ventura? The original Donald Trump celebrity know nothing? But I’m not sure Franken had it in the bag either.

Jesse Ventura had an actual political philosophy (mostly libertarian from what I could gather) and was never accused of illegality.

of course, that is a pretty low damned bar….
