I’ll speak really quick on the ability for NCAA Athletes to make money off of their likeness.

I appeared in the video game NCAA Football 2001, made by Electronic Arts Sports. The name used by the game was not mine, but all other characteristics of the specific player matched my own. Height, weight, ability level, hometown, ect. EA Sports used my likeness without my permission(along with every other player in the game that year). I was a part of the Class Action lawsuit that ended with a settlement that netted me about $400. Sure, I’ll use that money for something, but at the time I earned it- it would have made a bigger difference.

Now, I do not expect the NCAA to actually follow through and do things correctly. College Athletes are not dumb, and aren’t thugs. I played for a major college program in a major conference, and while we were a below average program- the money that flowed was major. Players are a labor force that while some(not all) are on scholarship, the compensation does not match the value the labor force helps produce.

Once again, these capitalists say they love capitalism, but when who they stereotypically think of- poor, black, uneducated athletes, might benefit- they will fight against it tooth and nail.
