I loved Pier 1 early on. Then they become Haute Couture and expensive, and I didn’t think their stuff was worth the price. This makes me sad though.

In 1970, many a young couple started their lives together with a trip to Pier 1. Me, I’ll always associate the logo with a delightful mixture of incense and optimism.
