It’s all part of the bankruptcy of the hard left. They don’t want any action taken against the despots and tyrants in the world. When the US and 35 other nations decided that Saddam crossed all lines and went after him - the hard left said that the US should be going to Darfur. If the US went to Darfur, the hard left would whinge about Iraq or Zimbabwe being the greater horror. So, they try to freeze decisions and if that fails, whatever is done, is wrong.

China gets oil from Somalia And Darfur, so Russia wanted to use the civil war to disrupt the flow of oil to China. Getting the United States to accomplish Russia’s’ ends, while draining our own resources in another war, would have been a real masterstroke.
