I’m still addicted to the patch, but I plan to start cutting that down soon as well.

The patches and gum are WAY easier to quit than the smokes are. I used nicotine gum for a long time after I quit, and when I gave it up cold turkey, there was barely a twinge of withdrawal, and even that didn’t last as much as a full day.

I think the speculations that cigarettes contain additives that make them more addictive than the nicotine by itself is probably have some merit, although I doubt it came about as a deliberate effort, even if true.
