There is a lot more to the letter. You exclude

“We rode till we got near Lexington Meeting-house, when the Militia fired a Voley of Guns, which appeared to alarm them very much.”

Which sounds like warning shots to me.


What SP really said was less specific than Obdicut would give her credit for.

“He who warned, uh, the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh, by ringing those bells, and um, makin’ sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed.”

It was a shout out answer, and not meant to be perfectly specific. I am just saying, that according to the letter, it was not wildly off.
