This is the GOP math I’m talking about. They simply don’t care.

But there are some other considerations.

Generally speaking, 5% of the population accounts for 50% of health care spending annually. The other 95% of the population makes up the remaining 50%.

What is that 5% of the population spending on/for? Well, there’s stuff like cancer, organ failure/transplants, catastrophic accidents/injuries, and often end of life care.

But that’s also separate from the fact that around 8-10% of the population has what would be considered a preexisting condition of some form or another. Anything from heart conditions, diabetes, to genetic conditions, or accidents/injuries (such as those that Chaffetz went in for surgery to address this week).

The GOP plans would essentially fuck all these people.

We’re talking about millions of people here. And the GOP simply doesn’t care about any of them. Not their voters. Not their constituents. Not any American other than those who would get tax cuts resulting from their actions.
