Then, depending on where you lived, Catholic school was more like an alternate public school for Catholic kids. (Immigrant-heavy northern cities like Pittsburgh).
Yeah, I went to a public grade school (K-6), and half a mile away was a Catholic school, so we intermingled quite a bit, obviously. The Catholic school boys were the most brutal, insensate bullies it’s possible to imagine.
