The co-opting of certain words by the far right is a little distressing, but it’s also useful. Even without delving too deeply, you can safely make certain assumptions about groups that call themselves Liberty This, and Family That, Concerned Citizen Something, and Patriot What-Not.

A few misguided municipalities tried to ban “Truck Nutz” under local obscenity ordinances a while back. I’m all in favor for Truck Nutz. By all means, fly a Confederate battle flag outside your diner. Get a tattoo of Sean Hannity. These things serve as helpful early warning signals, and prevent me from learning about you the hard way.
