Our assembly line made several refrigerator brands. We were GE, and made Hotpoint, a GE subsidiary. The difference, besides the trim, was that the GEs ran down the line at around 1200 per hour while the Hotpoints went at 1500. Line speed=quality.

I saw a fascinating GE Hotpoint washer and dryer the other day.
It was the smallest thing you’ve ever seen.
I think it was made in the 70s
It was made in Japan.
The washer didn’t have an agitator, instead it had something that made a powerful whirlpool action in the water using a powerful motor….
The dryer was unusual because it vented out into the room through a grating.
