Even more scary is that many of the RWNJs would probably have no issue committing a similar act today on a Mosque or an Abortion clinic or a half a dozen other places.

THIS. This is exactly what I was just thinking. What bothers me the most about it is that it was us killing our own children.

Remember when President Obama said that Trayvon could’ve been him, could’ve been his son? I think that’s sort of what he was getting at. People killed by fear or hate could be anyone: me, you, my kid, your kid—whoever is considered “other” and therefore potentially dangerous and/or less than human (LGBTs, Blacks, Asians, Muslims, Jews, atheists, the mentally ill, the intellectually or physically disabled, etc.)
