Technically, this isn’t abandoning Trump. These fucknuts think Trump should cover the legal costs they’ve incurred and any potential damages for assaulting some people at Trump rallies at Trump’s behest.

Matthew Heimbach claims in his federal court filing that he “acted pursuant to the directives and requests of Donald J. Trump and Donald J. Trump for President” and that, if he’s found liable for damages, “any liability must be shifted to one or both of them.”

It’s burden shifting, and perhaps this is no greater example of how hollow the GOP’s mantra of being the Party of Personal Responsibility™.

In fact, every time a GOPer gets in to trouble, they’re blaming someone else. Whether it’s Trump blaming Obama, GOP blaming Democrats for Trumpcare/GOPDontCare failing, or individual legislators or governors finding someone else to blame when they engage in infidelities or are caught engaging in criminality.

It’s never about them. It’s always someone else.
