From the day Trump announced for President, we have declared his doom over and over again. Every time he committed some infraction that would have felled a different candidate, he survived. It certainly appears that there is nothing he can do to lose. his base; and as long as he keeps his base, the GOP will not abandon him.

Hillary was right in her description of his supporters (though not wise to say it publicly). The GOP will not flinch if he fires those who investigate him; they don’t care if he reverses the past 70 years of progress. Hitler didn’t need majority support among the population to seize permanent power — and neither does Trump. He has the GOP.
