I contend that there is no GOP civil war, at least not one being waged by the likes of Corker and Flake. They’ve bowed out, they’re staying long enough to stuff their pockets in the hopes of a cushy private sector job on which to retire. They both voted hours after Flake’s speech to screw over millions of Americans to shove millions of dollars into the pockets of the rich elite. The civil war is an illusion that some are engaging in to tell themselves that there is a fight for the soul of the GOP. It’s an illusion for a simple reason: The GOP has no soul because they sold it away decades ago to the highest bidder.

I agree. If there is no change in their approach to public policy, there is no change to their intentions. It is still all about screwing the poor and the middle class and benefitting the rich.
