It seems pretty clear that the the Russian attacks in the 2016 election weren’t initially tagged by the US Intelligence Services (institutional inertia) and certainly not by the primary platforms for the attacks (Facebook and Twitter) because they were making money hand over fist.

But the Obama Admin, once informed, was certainly aggressive in response to the Intel.

Was it aggressive enough? Certainly a topic for discussion, but the follow-on response to the attack by the Trump Admin has been woeful to the point of useless. It has, in fact, been advantageous to the Russians in regard to the 2020 elections.

Rosenstein is not just extrapolating beyond the data, he is accusing the wrong party about how the attack was handled. It is the R’s who have refused to hamstring the Russians in the 2020 elections by requiring changes in how Facebook and Twitter moderate their platforms.

This isn’t an existential threat, it is a clear and present danger to our Democracy.

It’s clear that folks like Rosenstein don’t actually care the source, because they’re not interested in the truth. THey’re interested in power and dominance. Every single fucking one of theme is compromised, and the rot is so fucking deep, so fucking widespread that it’s virtually impossible to hold them accountable since they seem to control almost every single fucking lever of accountability, official and unofficial. They own the entire fucking process.
