If this were to actually happen, it would have the added bonus of making all the Puerto Ricans here in the U.S. automatically no longer American citizens, and thus vulnerable to immediate deportation proceedings.

Trump jerks himself off every night at the thought of being able to round up all the Puerto Ricans in New York, pack them into container ships and send them back.

That’s an interesting gray area. What I’ve heard from lawyers here is that those born before the political status change will keep it, but those born after will no longer have the citizenship. Of course, this is in context of a possible Puerto Rican independence, not a trade.
