I am not religious nor believe in any thing supernatural but if this is a solemn thing why make light of it in your title like that? I negged it for the title not the content.

This is not my thread, Alouette is making a point you missed about the way that Jews are portrayed in the media.

But you know what, I am not going to play this game. I’ve been bloging far too long to play it and I will just cut to the chase.

There are some non-religious folks with a big chip on their shoulder who see the need to neg on anything religious. Seeing people enjoy their religion makes people like you uncomfortable, so you lash out. It’s not cool. Don’t do it. Don’t pretend you didn’t - unless it was the alternative - which is you just neg on Jewish stuff. In that case, it would be wise to keep that to yourself.

Yeah, yeah, yeah I get that you hate religion and think it is stupid and that only stupid people could believe it. Blah, blah, blah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get the litany of horrors caused by religion. I know the history of religious wars, 30 years war, Reformation, crusades and pogroms and inquisitions better than you do - and you know what? That is more about defective people abusing religion than acting as their faith teaches them to behave.

In the absence of religion, people like that become atheist monsters just as bad, like the Stalinists, the Maoists, the Khmer Rouge and the Nazis.

That stuff is all about power and a host of other nasty things that religion generally preaches against.

Going into religion vs science with me would be a very bad mistake also.

So anyway, I just thought I’d get to the end of the conversation. I am sure your brilliant reply will be scathing. The short form is it will be less brilliant that you think it will be, and you need to just be less hostile.
