Per my comment in a previous thread, something like this was the most likely outcome. It wasn’t inevitable and it still just possibly might not be inevitable, but it was and remains probable.

When a President refuses to acknowledge such, be his name George Bush or Barack Obama, this country is sowing trouble for itself and its allies.

I don’t think we could do anything about it. Morsi may have set himself up as the new “needed” ally to maintain the satus quo in the region. The constitution is probably going to be Sharia based, possibly requiring clerical approval of laws passed and candidates allowed to run for election. He might take power for himself or establish a theocracy and step down. We’ll have to wait and see.
