My guess is that the NRA is going to hate that idea. The whole reason the NRA exists is to enable gun manufacturers to sell more guns. Recycling existing guns undercuts the market.

It would probably be a push for them. After all, the gun dealers who would be buying those redistributed weapons would be reselling them for a profit.
