As a former high school debater, one of the things that irritates the living fuck out of me is when people talk about who “won” a political debate. There’s no objective measurement of who wins these debates - facts, supporting documentation, logic, all the things that count in a real formal debate simply don’t matter. The issue of who “wins” is decided by … the feelings of the journalists covering it.

I too, was a master debater in high school.
