It’s not about Beto’s Senate primary, it’s about the primary for the seat he is giving up. The person who took 2nd place isn’t even party to the lawsuit, so I’m not sure what the point is.

Are we sure the candidates that are suing are ‘real’ Democrats?

I’d start there for a reason. Maybe they were in the race to screw up the race in hopes of cutting Beto’s numbers down and maybe he would lose the primary. Then if that didn’t work, they try to throw a wrench it all and get a bunch of Texans to doubt Beto.
