Unfortunately, the Bidens will likely find out the hard way one of the rules of American politics: accepting the appearance of impropriety is as good as admission of impropriety. Ignorance and blatant impropriety without shame meanwhile gets rewarded because ‘who’s to say if it’s wrong or not?’.

Good faith will always and infinitely be punished. Bad faith will similarly always be infinitely rewarded, because fuck you, that’s why.

And speaking of bad faith: the spin *certain* parties seem to inevitably put on some issues is every bit as aggravating: according to a piece I saw re Hunter Biden’s “vow” to stop working/taking money money from foreign entities said he would stop doing so IF HIS FATHER WERE ELECTED PRESIDENT - to avoid conflicts of interest . The last bit of clarification seem not to have been emphasized very much.

In his place, I would have made sure that any such announcement would be crafted specifically as a dig at the Trump family’s overt and blatant corruption, and stressing the comparisons: but then, Hunter Biden really doesn’t seem all that sharp. Dad Joe, OTOH….
