SCOTUS just ruled that the states can impose whatever penalties they have enacted against faithless electors. You have to be really paranoid to imagine Trumpists have infiltrated Biden’s electors in numbers sufficient to throw the election to him.

Wasn’t the nightmare scenario we discussed several days ago that, per Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution, a Republican legislature could ignore the results of the election and select their own set of electors? This would require that the legislature pass a law to change the method of selection, but Republicans have no problem in discarding precedents or ignoring rules when it suits their purposes. The Constitution is silent on how electors are chosen; there is nothing that requires they reflect the results of an election.
