I ate from free-range food carts all over Mexico. Also, Greece and Turkey. Never got sick from them.

There was a biologist on the month-long trip to Mexico I made. He knew too much. Wouldn’t use a glass, wouldn’t use ice, wouldn’t eat any fruit or veg that couldn’t be peeled. He got sicker than anyone.

Were you ever in Tijuana in 1961? I went once or twice—it was a pretty dirty place then, an awful lot of poverty.
