I’ve heard some of the worst hate towards Muslims comes from ME Christians. It’s all so fucked up because those people probably get harassment from the same bigots who think they’re Muslims. This actually I recall did happen once to some Coptic Christians who came to protest the “Ground Zero Mosque.” And you really have to look at the former Yugoslavia. Muslim Bosnians outside their religion are really no different from Orthodox Serbs and Catholic Croatians. They’re a little different than my peeps the Slovenes but that’s only because Slovenes don’t speak Serbo-Croatian.

Some of the dislike is understandable due to poor treatment of Christians by some Muslims—and sometimes worse, like the Armenian genocide—but once someone lets their hatred extend to an entire group of people, they’ve lost (no matter whether it’s Christians hating Muslims, Muslims hating Jews, Israelis hating Palestinians, etc.)

I would also note that some of the most vicious Islamophobes are of Christian Arab ancestry like Brigitte Gabriel (Marontie/Lebanon), Raymond Ibrahim (Coptic/Egypt), and even Robert Spencer (Greek Melkite/Turkey Syria).
