Steve King and Cindy Hyde-Smith will be my answer to any Republicans who try to bring it up. I’m just curious if there’s a way for Democrats to atone for their younger years that doesn’t completely involve giving up office.

This is not meant to exonorare Northam in any way. I’m just curious.

imo, what seems to separate this northam thing from king, scalise, hyde-smith, mcconnell, et al is malice - the malicious intent of the words, actions and positions they hold

i dont know northam. based on what i’ve been reading, he’s not ‘that guy’. and wasnt even back then. so it was stupid, boneheaded, insensitive, moronic thing to do and have preserved forever in a photo

these other people, though, are in fact willfully and intentionally promoting an ideology of hate, discrimination, we’re better than them, etc, that they’d just as soon have codified into law.
