I remember attending a Christmas party mostly attended by Mensans. I later expressed the opinion that they were a group of unpleasant and unattractive personalities; certainly, they were more enamoured of themselves than the rest of us could ever be.

I was invited to a Mensa meeting once but declined. I’m fairly sure I would have qualified for membership, but I had the same general impression of the membership as you did.
