How often do teachers take their students to protests anyhow? the rwnjs really don’t seem to know what teachers in public schools do.

There are a lot of people, especially teaching high school, who fancy themselves as teaching the kids a lot about social justice, but it’s not that easy to get permission for an actual field trip to…a demo.

Journalism teachers sometimes do it.

I’ve known people who encouraged kids to go on their own.

I’ve also known at least one teacher who was his own classroom Un-American Activities monitor, and made no bones in the lunchroom that he thought the kids who did lefty stuff were traitors and tools.

Teachers are people too. Some of them are a little weird.
