re: #101 Mr. Crankypants

I’ve noticed that as of Win 98 the off version of Windows sucks and then they get everything write on the next.

So we had Windows 95 which had quite a few problems, then Windows 98 which was pretty good. Then we had Windows ME which was a total disaster, then we got Windows XP which was pretty good. Then we got Vista which sucked, and then we got Windows 7 which is really good. Windows 8 is going to suck balls, and then Windows 9 will be great.

skipped right over windows 2000 there…to me XP was a marginal improvement over windows 2000 that got much better with service packs.

I installed Windows 8 on an old laptop about a month ago and it has been rock solid since. As a matter of fact I don’t think I’ve restarted it since the day I installed. It does feel a little schizophrenic like they took two completely different UI’s and tried to mash them together and switching from metro to desktop just feels disjointed. It is clearly a transition OS, until they can get people to go with the metroUI without revolting and 3rd party developers can ramp up metro specific apps.
