Sincere question. These people are racists but insist they are not. What is their motivation for denial? Why not just be loud and proud? Plenty of their social group are proud racists.

Admitting they are racist would indicate that they might be wrong. They view themselves as speaking the uncomfortable truths others don’t want to admit.
