I don’t think racism is 100% of Meghan hate. Part of it is her not playing ball with them. But what does it matter? Kate bought into it, and that’s her choice. Meghan is not buying in on the same level. So they will focus in on her blackness to justify their rejection of her.

Most of all, the tabloids need a white sheep and a black sheep. Any wife of the second son would get some sort of abuse — racist tropes happened to be available in this case. And it started before she “didn’t play ball,” and wouldn’t stop no matter what she did.
