Treason, no, but it’s apparently a serious breach of chain of command. It may have the right outcome, but I’m not so sure I’m on board with “the end justifies the means”.

Is an illegal order. So no, lets not attack the guy trying to save democracy and the world from a raving toddler. You can’t give a chimp an AK-47, and then be concerned when someone hides the bullets because, quoting Michael Madsen in Wargames “THAT’S NOT THE CORRECT PROCEDURE!”
